Defender Plus
A Government-size frame matted to a smaller than Officer's length slide. Interesting idea.
OVERVIEW
Colt first introduced the use of a lightweight aluminum alloy in a gun frame in 1948. Building on this experience, the Colt Defender model now offers the power and performance of a full-sized .45 ACP pistol in a compact, lightweight carry model.
Small, lightweight, accurate, reliable, with excellent sights, and able to withstand everyday wear and frequent practice sessions without the need for extensive maintenance.

Before viewing some more pictures, please note that Colt is also producing some M-1911 Parts, you might be interested in.
Well, believe it or not, Colt is also producing some air-pistols, which closely resemble the M-1911 pistol. If only it came with a SA trigger, a beavertail grip safety and a Commander hammer, I might just buy one. The weight is proper, the grip is the same, everything spells "buy me" but....
Some pictures from Colt's background :
Here is Mr. Samuel Colt.
And here is a picture of the old Colt Factory.
Finally, although I am an M-1911 lover, I cannot overlook the beauty and the excellence of this fine revolver.
